Seminars

The Center for Family Business has developed unique programs with the specific goal of providing material and information useful in day-to-day activities as well as long range planning. The Center’s seminar series explores topics from succession planning to best business practices and features industry acclaimed guest speakers.

Affinity Groups

Affinity Groups join a small number of professionals around a common denominator such as age and/or experience for dynamic discussions that can cover any topic important to the group including governance structures and outside boards, non-family managers, risk management, health care, siblings not in the business, succession planning, and sharing financials.

Ownership Strategic Plan

This service includes interviewing shareholders and future shareholders to determine which topics belong on the agenda for future family business meetings. All shareholders are debriefed on how to interpret the report followed by a private meeting with a facilitator.

Networking and Business Development

HighWired (an electronic discussion group), "High Ground" blog for family business leaders, and special social events

Consulting Services

Individualized implementation support is provided by Executive Director Mike McGrann and customized to the needs of your family enterprise. Mike has extensive experience helping family-held firms develop accountability structures, empower the next generation of family leaders, build unity among shareholders, establish a board of advisors or directors, or identify their competitive advantage.

Family Business Periodical

Membership includes a subscription to the Family Business - one of the top publications speaking specifically to families in business. The subscription includes new issues, and Internet access to archived articles as well.

Resource Library

Over the years, The Center for Family Business has amassed a collection of facts, data, articles and books related to families in business. Members can visit The Center’s library for books written by top authors in the field, or view The Center’s past-recorded seminars.

Member Directory

Membership includes a listing of all of The Center’s members.

Member-to-Member Consultation

The Center for Family Business offers member-to-member consultations designed to provide mentor relationships.

Postings Online

The Center receives and posts press releases, news articles, awards, and recognition of its members on a regular basis.
